How it works
01 | Apply.
Tell us what you've built and what you want to build next. Applications close on 15th August 2026.
02 | Shortlist.
We read every application. Shortlisted candidates hear from us by 25th August 2026.
03 | Conversations.
Conversations with the Surge team. We'll want to understand how you think, not quiz you on data structures.

Who is this for
The inaugural cohort will be run in partnership with six of India's leading institutions: IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, and BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus).
Currently in your 2nd to 4th year, with a bias toward 2nd and 3rd years
Available full-time in Bangalore for 8 weeks (June to August 2027)
A small group of Fellows will be selected from these campuses to form the first cohort.
Who we’re looking for
Obsession is the baseline.
Something you built and still think about. You called it, before anyone else. A rabbit hole nobody assigned. The obsession is the point.
You were awake when the model dropped.
Not to quote-tweet the launch. To get the API key. Some part of you needs to be first to touch new things, and your repos show it.
You’ve gotten into rooms you once only dreamed of being in.
A cold DM that turned into a meeting. An exclusive conference you found your way into. Access is something you create for yourself, not something you passively wait for.
Your free Saturday has a build in it.
Not out of discipline. Because by noon something annoyed you and by evening there was a repo.

FAQs
An internship gives you a desk at one company. Surge Fellows gives you the whole ecosystem around it.
You'll spend eight weeks working on meaningful problems inside a Peak XV portfolio company, but the experience extends far beyond the work itself. You'll spend time with founders, operators, and investors across the Peak XV and Surge network through mentorship, company visits, events, and cohort sessions designed to accelerate your learning.
Beyond the summer, Fellows remain connected to the broader Surge and Peak XV community.
Yes. Surge Fellows runs through the same summer window most internships do (June–August). You'll have to choose. If you're picking between this and a standard summer internship, we think the choice is obvious.
That's between you and them. The fellowship doesn't promise it — some fellows may join their host full-time, some will go back to school, some will start their own thing.
