PingSafe was a cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) that utilized a unique offensive security engine to simulate real-world attacks, helping businesses identify and fix critical cloud vulnerabilities with zero false positives.

It was acquired by SentinelOne in 2024. SentinelOne is a cloud security platform that leverages intelligence from cyber security attacks to provide a security cover that traditional security solutions may overlook.

Digital security has evolved tremendously in recent years with cyberattacks becoming increasingly frequent and sophisticated. This calls for a need for cybersecurity to become part of a product from the very start. Not surprisingly, the security market was estimated to be about $8B in 2022 and is growing at a CAGR of 20%.

SentinelOne aims to be a one-stop shop for all cloud security-related organizational needs across both large and small businesses. SentinelOne’s platform identifies the most critical vulnerabilities in an organization and helps the organization’s security team function better.

The startup grew its revenue by 10 times in a year before its formal launch and has also quadrupled its customer base in the same period. SentinelOne’s clients include Flipkart, Razorpay, Near Intelligence Inc., Skyflow, Belvilla, and Recko, among others. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and Bengaluru.

SentinelOne was founded by Anand Prakash, a well-known ethical hacker, and Nishant Mittal, an expert in public cloud infrastructure security and digital payments. Anand has been a bug bounty hunter for over a decade, a practice he started while still in college. He has since helped companies like Meta (previously Facebook), X (previously Twitter), Uber, Tinder, and Salesforce secure the data of millions of users. Nishant was among the earliest software engineers at PhonePe, a fintech unicorn.
